Ph.D.
Student Rikard Harr
About me
My name is Rikard Harr and I am a Ph. D Student at the department of Informatics,
Umeå University. I started out as a junior lecturer in fall 2001
and got my position as a Ph.D Student in the beginning of 2004. I started
out my academic career in the college of education but eventually came
to my senses, during a year abroad at the south coast of Spain studying
spanish.
Besides
working, my main interests are studying languages, watching and practicing
sports, hunting and fishing, movies and literature but in front of all
enjoying life with my family
Teaching
I have been affiliated to the department of informatics since fall of
2001. Since then I have been involved in different teaching activties
such as external teaching at the UPC (the centre of pedagogy at the university),
internal teaching such as supervising thesises at the C-level and internal
teaching at the department on various courses, such as (all courses are
held in Swedish and their names are translated by me to Swedish) :
IT
and society, 5 credits (held In cooperation between Informatics and Economic
History)
IT and society 5 credits (held in Informatics)
IT-use and societal evolution, 10 credits
Information technology, 5 credits
Design and evaluation, 5 credits
Digital Business, 5 credits
Activity development in IT dependent organizations, 10 credits
Research
My main topic of research is CSCW. I have been conducting both empirical
and theoretical studies and have investigated how collaborating groups
coordinate their activities in different domains, for example in a research
department and in a hunting case. My main interest is in how groups coordinate
their activities around ill-structured tasks, which are characterized
by rapid changing environments, poorly defined outcomes, high uncertainty
and a substantial variety of problems to deal with. My head supervisor
is Victor Kapitelinin
and my co-supervisor is Mikael
Wiberg
