My name is Henrik Wimelius and I work as a Ph. D Student at the department of Informatics, Umeå University. I have been employed by the department since the beginning of 2002, but received my Ph. D student position at spring 2004. Before that I worked as a junior lecturer. Previous to deciding to return to the academic world, I worked at two different companies in positions focusing on project management and systems development.
Besides working, my main interest is sports, specifically free-heel skiing (1, 2, 3). I am also a devoted cross-country skier and a member of the service crew of the IFK Umeå cross-country skiing team.
My main interest in research is related to organizational strategies for coping with complex, information rich environments. For more information about current projects please visit the research section of this website.
Another of my main interests work-wise, is constituted by the web development field. Having previously worked professionally with web development, it is gratifying to also be able to teach within this area of expertice. I am currently involved in the development and execution of two web-related cources; "Media production for the WWW" and "CSS-based web development".
