| Purpose
of the center |
| The
purpose of the Center for Design Studies is to be a focal
place for designers, researchers, practitioners, and students
with an interest in design as a common ground connecting many
disciplines and professions.
Center

To accomplish this, the center will strive to be a leading
forum for advanced studies in design research, design education
and design practice
The
center will serve as a forum for national design studies and
as a node in the international network for design studies.
The center will initiate and support studies within five broad
areas:
1. Design research methods and design research practices
2. Design education
3. Design practice
4. Philosophy and theory of design
5. Design policy
