Welcome to the department of Informatics
Today, information and communication technologies are woven into the society in which we live. Technology is everywhere--in work, education and leisure time; it influences the modeling and design of our organizations and society. In the discipline of Informatics, we attempt to explain the design and production of this technology. We also consider how it is used, experienced and evaluated. A social sciences field, Informatics is strongly influenced by studies of technology and its use. Informatics is a field for people who wish to understand information technology, and for those who seek to learn how it is designed and used.
