Welcome to the department of Informatics

Today, information and communication technologies are woven into the society in which we live. Technology is everywhere - in work, education and leisure time; it influences the modeling and design of our organizations and society.

In the discipline of Informatics, we attempt to explain the design and production of this technology. We also consider how it is used, experienced and evaluated. A social sciences field, Informatics is strongly influenced by studies of technology and its use. Informatics is a field for people who wish to understand information technology, and for those who seek to learn how it is designed and used.

Courses in English Spring 2010

Undergraduate courses;

Information Technology and its Applications, 7.5 ECTS, will begin on Thursday 21 January (Room ?, MIT building, 13.15 - 15.00) and continue for eight weeks. The lecturer is John Cumberbatch.

Graduate courses;

Embodied Interaction, 7.5 ECTS, will begin on Monday 18 January (Room ?) and continue for 8 weeks. The lecturer is Andreas Lund.

Usability and User Experience Design, 7.5 ECTS, will begin on Thursday 25 March (Room ?) and continue for 8 weeks. The lecturer is Karin Danielsson.
