IT Management Group
The IT management group currently includes 12 researchers, all addressing IT management issues in their research and teaching. Our research focus on issues pertaining to the design and use of new information technologies, digital innovation, and open innovation processes. In each of these areas we explore how information technologies and organizations can be simultaneously designed to enhance one another. Our research projects builds on the idea of collaborative practice and include industrial firms and govermental agencies as well as IT firms on both the global and local scene.
The focus of the group is IT management in the broadest sense and is characterized by a high ambition level both in terms of our academic contribution and the practical relevance of our research. All our projects are characterized by close collaboration with external parties. In the ProcessIT Innovation project we are collaborating with firms such as ABB, LKAB,MacGregor Cranes, SCA Packaging, och Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner. A new project, funded by VINNOVA, is focused on digital innovation in a collaborative project with Bonniers, VK, the Swedish church, and the municipal organization of Umeå.
