I am Manager of Q-Life, a research group within this department. We carry out research on the relationship between quality of life and information technology, in collaboration with local and other organisations. We are founder members of CHAP: the Centre for Health and Participation in the Ageing Population. See my llist of publications.

My main research interest is in the use of technology to improve quality of life, especially for people with special needs. I led the MAMA (Mobile and Augmented Memory Aid) project and have contributed to several completed and ongoing projects, including EMMA, ENGAGE, and mobisams. I currently coordinate the Swedish contribution to Competitive Health Services in Sparsely Populated Areas. This is a 3-year eHealthcare project funded by the EU Northern Periphery Programme (2007-2013) with partners in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland and Ireland.

My educational background is in Business Administration and Informatics, and I have a PhD in Informatics, awarded in 2001. My thesis is entitled: Perceptually-Seductive Technology: designing computer support for everyday creativity. Contact me for more details.

I have also taught at the department since 1987, devising and presenting a wide range of different courses.
